Lily-Clare

Pupil in Year 10

My name is Lily-Clare and I am a pupil at The John Wallis Church of England Academy.

I have been horse riding for 10 years and as well as riding I spend a lot of time at the stables and with the Riding for the Disabled Association. I have always wanted to be a jockey and in February 2018 my dreams came true through 'The Dreams Come True' Charity.  I competed against top jockey, Hollie Doyle, in a race at Lingfield where I finished in first place!  I rode a horse called 'Honkey Tonk Girl'. I was interviewed by ITV and Sky and after winning the race I spent the day with owners and trainers.

Excellence to me means that no matter how badly you fail you always have the chance to make it right.   And when you do, you have seen excellence in yourself.

The best thing about being a pupil in the Academy is being part of the Academy community and studying my favourite subject which is Triple Science.

Committed to Excellence
