- Miss Sarris Teale
My name is Sarris Teale and I have been a student at The John Wallis Church of England Academy for six years since joining in Year 7.
My main interest is Athletics and, before Lockdown, I would spend the majority of my free time either training or competing. I started out as a sprinter and long jumper after finding out I was pretty fast at school sports day. I have now gone on to compete at national level and from the age of 10 I have been ranked in the UK top 10 for Sprinting, Hurdles, Pentathlon and Triple Jump. I have been lucky enough to be selected for English Schools for both Long Jump, 4 x100m Relay and the Heptathlon, where as part of a team of 4 I won the National title. I have recently been selected by England Athletics and I am now part of the Youth Talent Programme which I’m very proud of, hopefully this will help me to achieve even greater success in my athletic events and fulfil my dreams.
Excellence to me means striving to do the best that I am able to do in anything and everything, as well as striving to be the best version of myself every day.
I believe that the best thing about the Academy is the range of opportunities that they have to offer me, both academically and within my sport. They are always going beyond to be extremely helpful to me in order that I pursue the career I want outside of the Academy when I leave. The dedication of all the staff that have taught me is also amazing and they continue to support and encourage me each day.
